ZAYAT REASSIGNED TO ALBERTA JUNIOR LEAGUE

Brandon, MB. – The Western Hockey League’s Brandon Wheat Kings have announced that rookie defenceman Jack Zayat has been reassigned to the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

A 17-year old Calgary product, Zayat has appeared in nine games for the Wheat Kings and eleven since signing with the WHL club last winter.

Zayat, who scored two goals and 20 points for the Calgary AAA U18 Buffaloes during the 2018-19 season, had seven penalty minutes and was a +1 with the Wheat Kings this year.

Thursday’s decision leaves the Wheat Kings with seven defencemen on their active roster, including rookie Rylan Thiessen.

The move comes on the eve of Friday’s WHL Trade Deadline.

On the ice, the Wheat Kings will be putting a five game winning streak on the line Friday night when they play host to the Red Deer Rebels at Westoba Place.

Tickets are on sale at the Keystone Centre box office, by calling (204) 726-3555 or online at keystonecentre.com
