Tonight’s MatchupThe Brandon Wheat Kings return to Westoba Place tonight for the only home game of the week as the Swift Current Broncos come to town. This is Brandon’s first home meeting vs the Broncos since December 3rd, 2019 when the WHeat Kings skated off with a 7-3 victory on the back of two goal performances from Duncan Pierce, Lynden McCallum and Ty Thorpe. 

Last Time Out: 5-4 OTW @ Saskatoon: Chad Nychuk (2G) scored the OT winner, just 2:22 into extra time as the Wheat Kings got back to .500 with a win in Saskatoon. Rylen Roersma (1G-1A), Nolan Ritchie (1G) and Ben Thornton (1G) added singles for the BWK, who got 31 saves for his 2nd straight victory.

Rossburn Rifle: Chad Nychuk leads all WHL defensemen with four goals after his two goal night on Wednesday. He has scored back to back game winn goals and is the first BWK defenseman since Kale Clague in October of 2017 to register back to back multi-goal games.

Welcome to MB: Recently acquired forward Eric Pearce will make his Wheat Kings debut tonight. The Regina native is a former second round pick of the Raiders (2016) posted a career high 16 points (7G-9A) in the Subway Cup Hub season in the spring. Pearce will wear #16. 

New Year Who Dis?: Rylen Roersma has been lights out for the Wheat Kings in the last week. The Lethbridge natice has scored twice and added three assists in the last two games. Last year, Roersma registered just two points in 17 Hub City games in the spring.
