Brandon Wheat Kings Hosts Victoria Inn Prospects Camp to Scout Talent and Prepare for the Upcoming Season
Brandon, Canada – May 23, 2023 – The Brandon Wheat Kings are excited to announce its upcoming Victoria Inn Prospects Camp, taking place from Friday, May 26 to Sunday, May 28 at J & G Homes Arena. The camp aims to identify promising talent, provide valuable training opportunities, and prepare for the upcoming season.
The Prospects Camp schedule is as follows:

Victoria Inn Prospects Camp provides an exceptional opportunity for talented young players to showcase their skills and potential to the Brandon Wheat Kings coaching staff. With a history of success and a commitment to developing top-notch talent, the Wheat Kings are eager to discover the next generation of hockey stars.
During the camp, participants will engage in rigorous training sessions, where they will receive expert coaching and guidance. The players will also have the chance to compete against one another in two exciting games, allowing them to demonstrate their abilities in a game-like setting.
“We are thrilled to host the Prospects Camp and have the opportunity to witness the exceptional talent in our development system,” said Marty Murray, General Manager and Head Coach of the Brandon Wheat Kings. “This camp serves as a valuable step in our team’s talent acquisition process, and we are excited to see the potential that these young players bring to the ice.”
Over thirty players are expected, all of the participating players, who were born in 2006, 2007 or 2008, were drafted or listed by the Western Hockey League club. The camp is designed to introduce the organization to its prospects and their families.
“It’s primarily about providing families with information about our organization, our principles, and our approach,” explained Chris Moulton, Director of Hockey Operations for the Wheat Kings. “Our main goal is to create an environment where players can feel at ease and be their authentic selves on the ice.”
“Their focus isn’t solely on making our team within a week. Instead, their time here is dedicated to gaining insights into our organization and its values.”
Among the 31 players attending this week are forwards Joby Baumuller, Jaxon Jacobson and Defenceman Giorgos Pantelas, who were all chosen by the Wheat Kings in the opening round in the last 2 WHL Bantam Drafts.
The J and G Homes Arena, a state-of-the-art facility known for its exceptional facilities and fan-friendly atmosphere, will provide the perfect backdrop for the Prospects Camp.
Members of the media and hockey enthusiasts are invited to attend the Prospects Camp and witness the talent firsthand. All scheduled events are free admission. This event offers an excellent opportunity to learn more about the Brandon Wheat Kings’ commitment to player development and their dedication to building a competitive team for the upcoming season.
