Brandon, MB. – This Wednesday, June 5th, your coffee can make a difference in the lives of youth from disadvantaged circumstances across the country.
On Tim Hortons Camp Day, restaurant owners of participating restaurants, including those in Brandon, Virden and Moosomin, will be donating 100% from every brewed coffee purchased in Canada to Tim Hortons Foundation Camps.
A leader in youth development programming, Tim’s Camps support youth from low income homes between the ages of 12 to 16. Through a multi-year, camp-based program, youth learn skills such as leadership, resilience and responsibility, which empower them to believe in their own potential and change their stories for the better.
A number of Wheat Kings, including veteran Connor Gutenberg will be on hand to assist Wednesday’s activities.
A three year veteran of the hockey club, he will be joined by Lynden McCallum and Ty Thorpe. The two local products will be entering their second Western Hockey League seasons this fall.
Gutenberg, McCallum and Thorpe will be assisting staff between 4-5pm at the Tim Hortons (South) location, next to Canadian Tire.
“Camp Day is as much a part of Tim Hortons as our Double Double is,” says Alex Macedo, President of Tim Hortons. “In 2018, our guests helped us donate more than $12.1 million on Camp Day and this year I hope we can exceed this to help even more youth change their stories.”
