It was a hot start for the Wheat Kings who ended their powerplay drought with Nate Danielson scoring his 23rd of the year to make it 1-0 only 4 minutes into the game. With under 8 minutes remaining in the first period Danielson was at it again stealing the puck away in the attacking zone feeding Rylen Roersma allowing Roersma to score his 11th of the year to make it 2-0 Wheat Kings after one period of play.
No scoring in the second and third periods with Logan Cunningham and Carson Bjarnason stopping every other shot they faced to keep it 2-0. There was a scary moment in the third with Oil Kings forward Rilen Kovacevic suffering skate laceration forcing him to collapse in the Oil Kings tunnel stopping play for sometime.
The Wheat Kings would win 2-0. Carson Bjarnason would collect his 3rd career WHL shutout and 3rd shutout of the season.
