NEWS: Wheat Kings Sign Prospect Gradey Hope

BRANDON M.B. – The Brandon Wheat Kings are pleased to announce they have signed (’07) blue liner Gradey Hope to a WHL Scholarship & Development Agreement.

From Kelowna, BC Hope was drafted by the Wheat Kings 78th overall in the 4th round of the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft.

The 6’1, 174 pound defenceman is currently playing with Okanagan Hockey Academy(CSSHL) where he has 4 goals and 14 assists in 24 games played.

“Gradey is an important piece of our 2007 draft class”, stated General Manager & Head Coach Marty Murray. “He’s a modern day, universal defenseman that plays well in both ends of the rink. After being selected to Team BC for the Canada Winter Games, he solidifies himself as one of the top 2007 born defenseman in his province. The Wheat Kings are elated to have Gradey on board, and we look forward to him being a very good piece to our back end in the upcoming years”.

Hope’s signing means the Wheat Kings have locked up their top 4 picks of the 2022 draft including F Joby Baumuller, F Easton Odut & D Emerson Clark.

The Wheat Kings are back in action this Friday when they travel to Moose Jaw for a rematch with the Warriors. Puck drop at 7pm Central Time from the Moose Jaw Events Centre.
