WHEAT KINGS DEAL WEGLEITNER TO ICE

Brandon, MB. – The Brandon Wheat Kings and Kootenay Ice have completed a Western Hockey League trade.

The Wheat Kings have announced that veteran right-winger Gunnar Wegleitner has been dealt to the Ice in exchange for a conditional sixth round pick in the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft.

A 20-year old Vancouver product, Wegleitner scored ten goals and 19 points in 57 games for the Wheat Kings in 2017-18.

Wegleitner, who has previous WHL experience with both Everett and Victoria, has eleven goals and 20 points in 112 career WHL games.

The Wheat Kings, who finished with a 40-27-3-2 record last season, will open up their 2018 training camp at Westoba Place in late August.
