Brandon, MB. — Now that the 2016-17 Western Hockey League season has come to an end the Brandon Wheat Kings can turn their attention to the upcoming playoffs.
The Wheat Kings, who enter post-season play as the defending WHL Champions, will meet the Central Division pennant winning Medicine Hat Tigers in the best of seven Eastern Conference quarterfinal series.
The first two games of the series will be played Friday and Saturday nights, before the series shifts to Dauphin’s Credit Union Place for games three and four, scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, March 28th and 29th at 7:30pm.
The Wheat Kings, who finished the regular season with a record of 31-31-7-3, are making their 23rd appearance in the playoffs in the past twenty-five years.
Tickets to Brandon’s two playoff home games in Dauphin will go on sale at 10am Monday at the Wheat Kings’ office at the Keystone Centre. Fans can also order by phone by calling (204) 726-3535. Ticket prices are $25 and $15 (youth 17 and under).
Including Standing Room, Dauphin’s Credit Union Place holds can hold over 2,000 fans.
The Wheat Kings have been forced to play their first round home games in Dauphin due to the annual Royal Manitoba Winter Fair, which will occupy Brandon’s Keystone Centre from March 27th to April 1st.
Speaking of tickets, the deadline for Wheat King fans to purchase their playoff tickets (for games played at WCG Place in Brandon) and 2017-18 season tickets is Monday at 5pm.
